A leadership coach listening with teens and community members around a table

Leadership coaching rooted in trust

People grow when they know someone is in their corner.

TPK helps teens become the leaders they are capable of being—and helps schools and community groups build cultures where people feel seen, heard, and trusted.

Who we serve

Leadership is not reserved for the person at the front of the room.

It shows up in the teen who notices a classmate sitting alone, the school leader who listens before responding, and the community member who steps forward when something needs to be done.

Our work gives people practical ways to strengthen those habits—with honest conversation, meaningful practice, and room to grow.

What leaders carry forward

Live2Lead is more than a day of strong content. It is a place to find perspective, practical ideas, and people who understand the responsibility of leading.

Leadership is hard. There are no guarantees of success and the only people who really understand what you’re going through are other leaders. That’s what makes Live2Lead such a great experience—you get to spend quality time with others who are right there in the leadership trenches with you!

Whether you’re in education, the non-profit sector, law enforcement, the military, or a small business owner, you’ll find something of value at this event. In addition to the cutting-edge content, you’ll walk away with an expanded professional network of colleagues you can call on when the going gets tough!

Ever since I discovered the annual Live2Lead Conference, it’s become a must-attend event for me each year. It’s exceptionally well-organized and always delivers a powerful, inspiring experience.

I value that it takes place early in the year—it helps me reset, refocus, and absorb practical insights I can immediately apply in both my personal and professional life. It’s more than just listening; it’s about growing, connecting, and walking away with a renewed sense of purpose and direction. I highly recommend it to anyone ready to take their leadership to the next level.

School partnerships

Culture before curriculum.

“People do their best work when trust is not an initiative—it is how the room feels.”

Schools ask a great deal of their people. New programs and new expectations only take root when staff believe they are heard, respected, and working toward something together.

TPK partners with schools to strengthen that foundation through facilitated staff experiences, leadership workshops, and ongoing conversations that put people before the next program.

The person behind TPK

Experience in the room. Curiosity at the table.

I’m Tim Knapp, founder of TPK Transformational Leadership Team. For 25 years, I have worked as an educator—watching what helps people open up, take ownership, and believe they can become more than they imagined.

I am a member of the John Maxwell Certified Leadership Team, and I have led student camps, coached teens, facilitated professional learning, and hosted community leadership events across Hampton Roads.

Along the way, I have partnered with local school divisions, law-enforcement agencies, and community organizations. Titles and settings change. The work does not: listen well, tell the truth, create space for growth, and keep people at the center.

01People first.
02Integrity always.
03Everyone has a dream worth pursuing.

Start with a conversation

Tell me about the people you want to help grow.

You do not need to know which program fits yet. A short conversation is enough to begin.
